Thanks! Here's the guide for modifying the steering wheel like mine:Original von Mark_HH
Good job!
That r-line bumper do look good and unique on that car!

And here's another photo of the mk4 R-line shifter:

I have a guide for that on another forum if anyone is interested.
Sorry, I don't speak a word of German!
Hallo Dave,
big compliments for your Car. It really looks fantastic. It looks such perfect, that it seems that Volkswagen really has produced it in that way.
It´s a pity, that i`ve sold my MK III Convertible, but when I see your car I´m thinking if should change against my MK III GTI "20 years".
Many Greetings vom Germany!

hi dave nice to see you .

a small summarise opinion of most the posts here are:
the front bumper seems not so brawny on your Mark 3.5 golf rabbit like on an original R32 Golf 4. :sauf:
all here have respect for this complex modification. :zwinker:
we know that the front is shorter and is a bit longer like a realy R32 car. :zwinker:
I think that is thrue, but also are a lot car accessory bumpers look like the same on a mark 3.5.
like this
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0056103676
most of the here are more to be accustomed to so brawny R32 Mark 4 front. this ist the only problem i think.
i like this r32 mark 3.5 style.
my opinion is, this style looks very unique and so we must see it.
one version to fix this problem is, a replacement of the front bumper grill with a grill without a VW emblem.
it will visual stretch a little bit the font. :zwinker:
Modify A Mk 4 Steering Wheel To Fit A Mk 3 is very clver and simple :daumen:
for a year or so i have the same idia but dont converted in the reality.
now it is good to know what this will work propably. :zZ:
i have also open a same thread in this forum of your r32 font bumper
there are more people who like more this mark 3.5 r32 front. :daumen:
what will you do with your back bumper some ideas?
R32 Back Bumper maybe?
sorry for my Noob Photshot style

Robby, Thanks for the compliments.
gods-dice,
That's a good idea about the badgeless grille. I'm sure it would stretch the look of the front end a little bit, so I'll keep that in mind.
I considered doing the same thing to the rear bumper, but it would be very difficult to achieve. The front bumper, although more narrow and more deep than a mk4 bumper, fits the same way - the rear bumper on a mk3.5 doesn't even fit the same way as a mk4 bumper.
And as for the pinstripes you circled, I removed them a few weeks ago

hi dave
pinstripes removing was a good idea. :daumen:
it is to more old fashion style for this modern car i think. :zZ:
will you modify a r32 rear bumper or a accessory r32 style bumper?
when you´ll be start the r32 rear bumper modify?
any kind of r32 rear accessory bumpers for a mark 3.5 modifying,
are for me unknown.

Hello everyone,
I see that you're already aware of my latest project.
The color is Volkswagen LD2C, "Magma Orange", from the North American special edition 2006 Fahrenheit GTI.
We got the whole paint job done in 10 days - everything disassembled, sanded down, fixed the dings and stuff with some putty, sanded down and welded the two halves of the rocker panels, and got it all primed, sealed, and painted.
I wanted to close the side marker light and aerial holes, but I was told that it could be very hard to do because of how thin the metal of the fenders is. (It might warp under the heat).
I chose to do the engine bay and trunk area in flat black, which looks better than original, if you ask me.
Also got ".:R28" badges made for the front and rear.
