Hello from Portugal

Beitrag von p0ssuid0 »

Hello!

My name is Rui Gameiro, I'm from Portugal (Coimbra, to be more specific!) I am 26 years old, and my first Cabrio was bought when I was 18... It was a blue mk3.5, 1.6 liter, but last year I sold it, and bought a black 1.9 TDi mk3.5!

Well, I hope you speak or, at least, understand English because, as you may have already noticed, I don't speak German (I would love to, but I never had the chance) The only words I can write in German (I don't think I can even pronounce them correctly, lol) are specific car parts :D

I only discovered this forum yesterday, and I registered immediately, ahah...

I hope I'll learn something here with you, and also hope I may teach you something I may know ;) And, well... I'm desperate to check all your cars  ahahah

Cheers, from Portugal

Hello Rui Gameiro!

Welcome here in our fanbase!
I think I speak in the name of all, it´s a great pleasure for us, to welcome you, a guy from portugal, in a regular only german speaking community!

To represent your car, with all the specifications and a lot of pictures, here in the showroom of the community, would be great and very interessting for us!

Have a good time, a lot of fun here and stay tuned!

Mike

Thanks for the welcome :prost:

I will not show my car for now, because it is in quite bad shape and I'm a little "ashamed" of it, ahah... It needs te be repainted, the seats must be repaired because the leather is dry and it's breaking, etc... So, I think that, putting it between all your perfect, or almost perfect Cabrios wouldn't be very nice :whistling: And I also have some goodies to mount.... New wheels, coilovers, etc, that I want to put together all at once... When it's all done, I will open a new thread, and show you some before and after pictures

BTW, is there any thread with a detailed step-by-step description of how to change the top of the Golf Cabrio?! And, does anyone know about the existence of an hard-top for our Cabbys? Even if it's home-made... I have been thinking in the possibility of making one using the original frame of the Cabrio's soft-top, but I don't know if it's possible and loved to see if anyone had the same idea before and managed to build the hard-top... I know this might sound a little crazy :screwy: But well... We gotta try it, ahah

Cheers

Hey Rui,

welcome! Regarding your Question: there is no Hardtop for our Cabrios, unfortunately. We had an initiative to create some, but it never finished :D

Best

btw:
Do not think we are only interestet in pictures from perfect cars.
Even the way from ugly to show-and-shine is much more fascinating than only pictures of Silver and Gold.

Hey, thanks for the answers, and for the warm welcome ;)

Well, I have found a thread on VWVortex, where some guy also tried to build a hard-top, using the frame of the soft-top. He welded it, but then he never gave news...
About that initiative you had, did you guys started something? Do you have any sketches, or even photos of anything that you did? 'Cause I would love to check it

About showing my car... Well, give me some time ;) I don't even have pictures of it because, as I said before, I'm kind of "ashamed" of it, because the last owner didn't take too much care of it... But, as soon as I begin taking care of it, I'll open a new thread, to let you know of all the work i'll do  I have some good ideas (in my point of view, off course) for the car, and I'll be glad to show you everything!

And thanks for the threads, Holla die Waldfee!

Cheers
